Artrageous Weekend, Columbia MO
Artrageous Weekend started yesterday with the quarterly Artrageous Friday. There is lots more to see and do today—listed below. 9 am-5 pm – 55th Boone County Art Show
Boone County National Bank, 720 East Broadway
Nearly 200 works from professional and non-professional artists are on display and on sale for art enthusiasts. 187 artworks, almost all of them created in Boone County, ranging in price from $23 to $8,000, sculptures, oil paintings, jewelry, watercolors, glass, wood, graphite and colored pencil drawings, fiber works, painted gourds. The show is free and open to the public on Saturday, October 11 from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday, October 12 from 11 am to 5 pm. Remember to pick up a voting slip and cast your ballot for the People’s Choice Award.

11 am-1 pm – Artist demonstration
Makes Scents, 9th Street
Exhibit features Michael Marcum and Elsa Kelley-Marcum. Michael will be featuring his metal trees in a variety of sizes. Elsa will have new paintings and paper crafts.
Saturday, October 11: Artist demonstration from 11 am-1 pm. Sunday, October 12: Face painting and paper crafts.

12-3 pm – Second Saturday for Kids: 3D art—Drumming, Dancing, and Drawing
Orr Steet Studios, 106 Orr St
Free for children age 5-15 with accompanying adult. Exhibit: Photo Vision.

12-4 pm – Artist meet and demonstrations
Calhoun’s, Broadway
Ashley Cooper’s work will be on display during the Artrageous Weekend. Come visit on Saturday from 12-4 to visit with the artist in person.
Ashley—mostly known for her Tiger drawings—will be working on a number of subjects over the weekend.

2-4 pm – Painting demo by Matt Ballou
Imago Gallery & Cultural Center, 1020 E Broadway Ste G
Stop by the Imago Center at any time on  Saturday (11 am-6 pm) to pick up a coupon for a free Italian wine tasting at The Wine Cellar & Bistro (Cherry St) during Artrageous Weekend.

Saturday, October 11th-Golden Grass Jewelry Demonstration with Nathalia Maduenho.  Nathalia will demonstrate her one-of-a-kind jewelry made with Brazilian golden grass, an exquisite natural grass, harvested once a year, which grows in one place in the Jalapao region of Central Brazil. Sunday October 12, 12-5pm: Free Bracelet making with our fair trade beads and seeds from from the Guatemalan rain forest! Bring the kids for a fun and easy activity!
