Two retro dancing venues available this weekend! Both are for people ages 21+
Tonight, Fri, Jun 5, 2015, from 8-11 pm, check out Retro Patio! at The Industry—the new nightclub in the back of the Tiger Hotel (23 S 8th St, downtown). Music from the 60s through the 90s will play outside on the patio with DJ Pat Down. Retro drink specials and give-a-ways for the best dressed—costumes are encouraged. The Industry can be accessed directly from the alley behind the hotel (off Cherry St), or by going through the hotel from the front.
Since First Friday is in the North Village Arts District downtown from 6-9 pm tonight, you could transition from the art to dancing for a great evening! and/or… attend the Merchants of Doubt movie opening event at Ragtag Cinema, which also starts at 6 pm. Decisions, decisions….
Tomorrow night, Sat, Jun 6, 2015, from 9 pm-1 am, the next installation of 80s vs 90s :: Music Video Battle of the Decades returns to The Blue Note (17 N 9th St). Sponsored by Inside Columbia magazine and Q106.1, DJs Jen Ha (80s) vs REqUiEM (90s) will play classic 80s and 90s music videos on the big screen. In the past, the music tends toward rock and rap, over alternative genres. Costumes are encouraged, sometimes with prizes, and voting for your favorite decade occurs later in the night.
