Local grocery stores are starting May with yummy food tasting events!

May 1-2 (3-7 pm) and May 3-4 (11 am-5 pm)
Taste of Hy-Vee has sampling throughout the store. In our visits on the first day, May 1, 2014, the overall samplings included brats, barbeque, pizza, Chinese–Chicken Satay, salmon, hamburger, and blueberry cheddar. All stores had some different food choices, as well. Westphalia Winery had a rep who traveled between the three stores during the sampling time. Hy-Vee (West) also had beer samples. Hy-Vee (Rock Bridge) has a nice display showing foods from Missouri sources, and are also having a related Homegrown Food Festival, May 2 (4-7 pm) and May 3 (10 am-3 pm), featuring kids activities on Friday (today), and local food samples and music on both days.
