Party With the Stars tonight with the Central Missouri Astronomical Association at the Columbia Public Library. At 7 pm, Val Germann will have an indoor slide show in the Egg (Children’s Program Room) about the coming of spring, and the latest discoveries about mighty Jupiter and brilliant Venus, the king and queen of planets, who rule the sky as the spring equinox approaches. Today, March 20, is the first day of spring, with the Vernal Equinox at 5:45 pm CDT. Following the presentation, if the clouds have cleared any from this overcast day (fingers crossed), everyone will head out to the parking lot where one or more telescopes will set up for viewing the planets, stars and the Orion Nebula. This program is intended for everyone, ages 6 to adult.

Since this program occurs after the library closes, enter via the Gene Martin Secret Garden, at the west end of the main parking lot / library building. Park around the edges of the parking lot, so the telescopes can be set up.
