The next First Friday is happening tonight from 6-9 pm in the North Village Arts District (downtown—Walnut street from College to 9th and north to Rogers). Venues with details are listed in the calendar notes. Check out all the art and other fun!

Participants include

• Artlandish Gallery (1019 E Walnut St): Artlandish First Friday Love Fest – Live Music: Pippa and the Strawmen, Keith Fletcher. Enjoy a lively artists market with over 45 booths of handmade goodness.
• Resident Arts (1023 E Walnut St # 3, entrance in alley between Orr St & 10th St): Reception for Finding Clarity: Through a unique partnership between Clarity Float Spa and Resident Arts, 12 artists held residency at Clarity Float Spa over 12 months and made work about their experiences. Refreshments provided.
• Sager Braudis Gallery (1025 E Walnut St): See the work of February Exhibit artists Kait Arndt, Craig Albright, Nick Pena, Joel Sager, and Patti Shanks. Chat with the artists, view their work, and enjoy a drink courtesy N.H. Scheppers Distributing Company and Les Bourgeois Vineyards.
• Talking Horse Productions (210 St James St): Colette Brumbaugh Reception – The paintings of local artist Colette Brumbaugh are on display in the lobby gallery. Meet Colette and enjoy refreshments.

Bonus tonight: Check out the Grand Opening of Wheely’s Bicycle Café! Wheely’s will be at the First Friday venue, Orr Street Studios. “Serving up 100% Organic, Great Tasting, Cheap Coffee. While producing little to no emissions!” For the opening, they advertise that the first 100 people get a free coffee, and all coffee will be 50% off. They also offer hot chocolate, tea, and snacks.

Parking: Check out our downtown parking guide for the scoop on parking options downtown. As a quick reference, parking garages are free after 6 pm and street parking is free after 7 pm. There is also a permit parking spaces area bordering the Wabash bus station area that is free after 6 pm.

True/False Festival events: On Saturday, you can learn more about How to True/False at the Columbia Public Library, and on Sunday, there is the first of three workshops with the T/F Artist-in-Residence, Becca Sullinger, which will be held in Dogwood Artist Workspace.

Also this weekend, look for the next Home Depot kids workshop, Songbird Station has a Feeder & Seed Pairings Workshop, and Natural Grocers has a Quick Class on Apple Cider Vinegar. Despicable Me 3 will be showing at the Armory. Barnes & Noble, in addition to the regular morning storytime, is holding a Harry Potter Book Night on Saturday evening. For music, on Sunday afternoon, you can choose between the Community Drum Circle or three harpists playing at the Columbia Public Library for Tunes at Two.
