The 36th season of the Shelter Gardens Summer Concert Series begins tomorrow, and all concerts are now on the calendar.
This summer, many regular performers return to the gazebo on Sunday nights, beginning at 7 pm, with the following schedule:

June 10: Columbia Community Band
June 17: Ironweed & Swampweed
June 24: BluesSlingers
July 8: Norm Ruebling Band
July 15: Lisa Rose & Hothouse
July 22: Banana Oil Pan Band

The event is often crowded, be prepared to come early if you want a closer seat, or a shadier spot–but you can arrive anytime and enjoy the music from anywhere in the Gardens. It is best to bring blankets or lawn chairs. They often provide paper fans for staying cooler. If you want to extend the experience, bring a picnic dinner, pick a grassy spot behind the seating area, and relax and enjoy the evening. Being in the back is also a great way to bring the kids and let them run around and enjoy the concert without disturbing the rest of the audience.

Shelter Gardens is at 1817 West Broadway.
